Is it possible that cholesterol/triglyceride secretion by immune cells might have an influence on plasma cholesterol/triglyceride levels?

I just knew from biliary/hepatocytic secretion or food dependent cholesterol levels. But is it possible that upregulated cholesterol synthesis in immune cells can increase plasma levels?
