Dear research community, i am wondering if it would be great to create an AC battery; i.e., the battery that produces alternating current directly? Perhaps all present-day electrical devices require AC voltage for input; hence the need, e.g., to convert DC produced by solar cells to AC. Also, AC can be transmitted over big distances with lesser losses than DC (thanks to N Tesla!). Reagrdless of whether it is possible or not to create a practical AC battery, please share your opinions on the matter.
I think this is difficult to happen as all batteries count of chemical reaction to produce electrons, this electrons move in one direction from the anode to cathode.

As for the posibility/impossibility of creating them... there are oscillatory chemical reactions (ok, not many) and there are many known electrochemical processes that produce voltage or current oscillations (at least in electrolytic cells), meaning that potentially such processes can be realized in galvanic (spontaneous) cells.

You mean that you may make the anodic reaction to oscillate to become cathodic reaction then back again anodic reaction?
