This bird was photographed in April 2018 during my field visit in Son Beel wetland, a riparian freshwater wetland, located in southern Assam. The appearance of this bird is somewhat similar to Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) commonly found in eastern North America. Whistling-duck or Lesser Whistling Teal is the dominant species in this wetland.
