The Journal Nature published a note highlighting the importance of finding new ways of "...judging a scientific journal...": https://lnkd.in/d_3_kED

I understand that, to judge the quality a scientific journal is something similar to judge the quality of a wagon based on parameter such as –two examples, but you could find out others- , its speed, softness and/or weightlessness.

· About:

# speed: we must remember that speed is a functional of the horses, which dictates the wagon speed –strong, fast, and vigorous and obviously, lamblike…-

# Softness/weightlessness: which are partly dictated by the trotting of the horse but, mainly, by the quality of the road...

· In a Scientific Journal –or any journal-, the quality of its content –and everything regarding this journal-, is a functional of the quality of its content –THE articles-! High quality articles implies in a journal of high factor impact HOWEVER, the opposite is not true –high impact journals does not mean –ONLY- high quality papers… SEE:

"The Wisdom -W- Criterion": I have two papers regarding a new proposal to evaluate the “quality of the horses or the quality of the roads… BUT, not the quality of a wagon”. My proposal aims to evaluate the quality of any scientific paper and this quality reflects on the quality of the Journal –not necessarily in its impact factor, as previous paragraphs/links-! We have created what we have called as "The ultimate quality evaluate factor: the Wisdom Factor!”

Regarding the Impact Factor and Journal Quality and, as part as part from my post doc research at UNC/Chapel Hill -2014-2015-, we have proposed –created-: all papers published must comply with "The Wisdom -W- Criterion"!

This proposal -Wisdom -W- is The Ultimate Quality Indicator- had its origins based on several works, specifically the ideas from “Bornmann and Leydesdorff” about which the following indicators have MORE INFLUENCE IN A PAPER CITATION: Quality Indicators (peer review), Journal Impact Factor –as the issue about NATURE-, Numbers of Authors and Number of Pages of the Paper?

We believe "The Wisdom -W- Criterion as ultimate quality indicator‟ could increase the quality of any paper -and from its Journal- and, consequently, the paper citation... -see links above from SCI blog and Science site-.
