When using Winfrith Concrete model Mat 084/085 in LS DYNA, the manual mentions: "In order to generate the crack database, the LS-DYNA execution line is modified by adding: q=crf where crf is the desired name of the crack database, e.g., q=d3crack".
How is this done exactly? How do you modify the execution line when working with the k-file in LS-PrePost at the pre-processing stage?
I am adding the binary D3CRACK file and getting the aea_crack ASCII file, but I'm not sure how to view the cracks.
Did you try the recommendation in the manual and just:
File → Open → Crack or File → Open → Others --> Crack File?
Hi Georgios! Thanks for your recommendation. I tried it yes but I don't have a d3crack file to open it. What I have is an "aea_crack" ASCII file. I think I'm not knowing how to add the d3crack file in the command line. How do I "modify the execution line"?

I work on a Linux-based cluster for my ls-dyna computations, which makes it rather straight forward to adapt the command line. If you are working on Windows environment, I suppose you use the manager? I am not expert with the ls-dyna manager on windows, but i would try to add the d3crack file in the following field:
LS-DYNA Program manager --> Solver --> Start LS-DYNA Analysis --> type more Cmd.
In this field you can probably add the additional option which you need:
q=d3crack
I would give it a try.
And if this doesn't work, then in the same window (LS-DYNA Program manager --> Solver --> Start LS-DYNA Analysis) after entering the input and output files there is an option --> "Advanced". There you can choose which output files you want to be generated. On the second column there is a field for the crack file (Q=.......). Try entering there after Q= the name of the crack file, e.g. d3crack.

I'm using the mechanical APDL from Ansys. What you're saying is perfectly correct in case of the LS-DYNA program manager. The steps with the APDL though are different. Finally I was able to do it but. I spend hours reading until I realized how to do it. It's a bit complicated but what can we do.

Phuong you have to do it from the cmd (command console) of the computer. You add the input there. It's hectic but it works
