Willing to start learning simulations of relaxation dynamics in liquids from scratch. Suggestions?

I am willing to do simulations on relaxation dynamics of liquids, pure and binary systems all the way from scratch. I wish to go ahead with Matlab (if possible) or Python. I know it will take long, but willing to go ahead with it anyway. Need suggestions.
