Will it be fine to use LPG instead of Acytylene in Oxy welding for the use of (quartz) tube sealing?

So i know that people use both LPG and Acetylene for Oxy welding, but want to make sure that using LPG,i'll be able to seal quartz tube or not. Also how pure Oxygen do i need to use?

Hi Charanpreet,

It should be okay, since the flame temperature of propane in oxygen is 2800 C, whilst the quartz melting point is approximately 1650°C. Given the temperature difference, also a non high purity oxygen would be required. See also link below.
