The amount of work researchers are conducting nowadays on industrial automation is huge. Many industries are replacing human labor with robots. Dubai has recently launched automated vehicles in some specified lanes and it is expected that 25% taxis in Dubai will be driver-less within 2025.
Considering these cases, I fear that Robots will dominate and disrupt human labor in the future
Yes autonomous robots will replace human labor in the near future with rapid advancement of AI and machine learning. However humans will still have more other jobs to fill the gap, this happens as part of a chain reaction when there is a new technology around.
Thinking about automatisation most people fear the scenario that classical labor will be replaced by humanoids or industrial robots. This fear has been around since the 1960s, as you can see on the covers from a popular german journal "Spiegel".

Automated robots will definitely change the way we work, but that process is already ongoing since decades - in a very subtile way. People that used to work in bank counters were replaced by cash machines, travel agencies were replaced by internet platforms. Currently Amazon & Co are challenging the retail sector.
It's not only robotic that changes the way we work, it is technology in general. We could also call it progress, and I believe the majority of the people profits from it.
At the end of the day these machines just supply products and services to costumers - and WE will be these costumers. Things are changing, and who says that everybody has to work 8 hours a day for 5 days a week?
The current challenge is, that technology evolves faster than society. This can be seen as a problem or as a chance. I tend to see the latter.
Yes well said and always their had been unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of automatisation but this will also extend the human boundaries as what we already have started to realize and relish.

Agreed that the not in all fields AI is successful but the research and machine learning success rates are in good slope and will prove as a challenge in many cases for natural intelligence.

It will definitely take some time before robots will be able to change a babies diapers (fortunately).
Not talking about changing the pantyhose of a 2 year old - especially if the kid does not want and fights back.
The role of human in some activities is undeniable. It seems that removing humans from some activities will improve effectiveness and safety. But it should be noted that many of the human findings are based on trial and error, so eliminating humans may stop or slow down the scientific realm.
