Comparing from commercial nickel foil, Nickel foam has more surface area. When using the nickel foil for CV measurements, the sample will easily peel off. Using nickel foam will rectify this problem.

In general Nickel foam, acts as both good electrically conductive substrate and as the source material for the growth of nanoporous nature (Ni3S2). This porous nature of Nickel backbone provides excellent mechanical strength and allows easy access of electrolyte in the electrochemical cell for charge transportation.
