I have tested a PV System of 440 kWp with PV testing equipment  Benning PV 1-1, Benning PV 2, Benning Sun 2. In the plant are installed 10 string inverters of 40 kW AC. One string contains 17 modules connected in series, wherein one inverter are connected 8 strings.

The open circuit voltage of one module is 46.7 V. One string open circuit voltage will be 46.7*17 modules in series =793.9 V.

The measurements have been taken two days in a row. In all 80 strings of the PV plant, the Voc of strings is about 720-740 Volts, with an ambient temperature of about 24 degrees Celsius and a temperature of PV cell of about 16 degrees Celsius , and irradiation of about 713 W/m2 (The measurements have been made before switching on the PV plant to produce energy).

See attached a PV array report for 6 strings of the PV plant.

What is the problem that the measured Voc of the string is much lower than the nominal Voc?
