i was searching to acquire past sea level data and i found that most of the area throughout globe have more than 6m sea level. why is this? if i want to model a coastal area, i should consider this also? or just 0 as msl?
Please note that the PSMSL level data has its datum system and all are referred to the RLR (revised local reference) .
Using regional sea level data from a tide gauge in your area you will refer the data to the datum of the instrument, i.e. a known bench mark OR to the zero level of the instrument, i.e. you will deal with the instrument data as total elevation above the sensor of your gauge.
