Why my dh5a always flocculated when cultured in M9 medium?

I used the M9 supplemented medium but didn't adjust the pH of 5x M9 salts to 7.2.

The final concentration of Ampicillin is 100ng/mL.

Here is my recipe:

1X M9 salts
1mM thiamine hydrochloride
0.4% xylose
0.2% casamino acids
2mM MgSO4
0.1mM CaCl2

I've already solved the problem. It is the pH that matters. Adjust the pH of your medium to 7.2-7.4.
