As for me and depending on my experience, Matlab is the best flexible plotting software. The Matlab figures have the following features:

1. Automatically adjustable resolution with respect to the graph size in the word file with high colorful resolution with small sizes.

2. Easy to draw lots of figures using a fixed codes unlike the GUI software you need to edit every figure.

3. Small figure sizes.

4. The majority of SCI journals required the .fig files of the paper graphs such as Elsevier.

5. Open your imagination and creativity to create your own figure design

6. Very useful and convenient if you are doing simulations with Matlab or Simulink since you can plot the result directly.

7. Easy to reedit again and easy to save either .fig file or .tif photos.
