management has often been defined as a science or art. but over time management continue to remain on status quo without thinking on innovation that could bring more productivity and optimize efficiency in the organization.
I really don't understand, how management is status quo. Rather than planning, organizing, directing and controlling, management today has moved into a style of leading, empowering, assessing and partnering. Successful managers today are team leaders, who prudently use all the organizational resources and develop Human Capital for creating competitive advantage through innovation in product, process and technology. Every successful manager develops his / her own style of management as per the organizational requirement, creates conducive organizational culture and agility, in order to respond to the challenges of changing business environment.

Today's management is not 'status quo' as management operates in a dynamic environment, and every effective manager has to deal with the rapidly changing external environment factors, then there is no question that management has remained status quo.
