Did you look at landscape structure? human dominated landscapes and protected areas are likely to be different in spatial structure. Beacuse of that movement patterns, dispersal distances and a number of other factors will be included. Human perception will also be different, because humans will tend to be more familiar to the landscape in a human-dominated landscape. It may be a good idea to compare species movement, dispersal and home range between these two landscapes.
