If you have a OD of ~2, that means you got the best RNA.

A value of 2.1 is considered as pure RNA compared to that of 1.8-2.0

The ratio of optical density at (A260/A280) determined the purity of the extracted nucleic acid . This ratio should be in the range of 1.8-2.

So the ration should not exceed 2.0?

It can be up to 2.1.

i see, my highest 260/280 is 2.04, is it still considered normal?

It is indeed a good quality RNA.
