Why does MoO2(C5H7O2)2 change its colour from yellow to blue-green when exposed to light? Does it decompose?
Which process is happening? Reduction?

The Mo(VI) is reducing to Mo(V), which I think is made possible by the presence of UV light and moisture.

Formation of an acac radical and simultaneous reduction of the Mo(VI) to Mo(V).
"the intraredox reaction with production of acac radicals is proposed for a general route for the photodecomposition of these chelates" - P. Cheremisinoff (1997) Handbook of engineering polymeric materials. Page 248.
