High entropy means high disorder and low energy. To better understand entropy, think of a student's bedroom. If no energy or work were put into it, the room would quickly become messy. It would exist in a very disordered state, one of high entropy. When energy is transformed from one form to another, or moved from one place to another or from one system to another there is energy loss. This means that when energy is converted to a different form, some of the input energy is turned into a highly disordered form of energy, like heat. The law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyedonly converted from one form of energy to another. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, meaning that the total amount of energy in the universe has always been and will always be constant.
