Biodiversity is important for humans through ecosystem services and goods. Ecosystem services are broken down into: regulating services such as air and water purification, provisioning services such as fuel and food, cultural services and supporting services such as pollination and nutrient cycling. Biodiversity maintains the ecological balance. It helps in the healthy existence of humans and other species in the ecosystem. It helps in high productivity and human wellness. Biodiversity provides humans with valuable genetic diversity. Thus, they help in soil formation, reducing pollution, protection of land, water and air resources. These functions of biodiversity are important for ecosystem functions and stability. Over time, the succession occurs in a series of plant stages, which leads to a stable final community, which is very similar to the plant community, which originally existed in the ecosystem. This final stable plant community is a climax community.
