Hi everyone,

Thank you very much for your time to look at my question!

When we prepare humic acid solution, we normally use N2 gas to protect HA from oxidization when adding NaOH to create an alkaline condition. But I do not fully understand why humic acid is easily oxidized under alkaline conditions? And how alkaline (above which pH) this oxidation is obvious? (would pH 6 be considered alkaline in this case that can induce an obvious oxidation?)

Thanks a lot in advance for your any ideas about my questions!

Best,

Jiaoyi
