I'm from here in the Debrecen area (Eastern Hungary) I can hardly answer to this question, becuase I do not have direct knowledge of the area... so you should ask geologists in Nepal or India, or other researchers who have studied the geology of the area in your subject. If I had the chance, I would solve this trial problem quite quickly... But during the solution time, I would have to ensure my livelihood (including my family)...

This is a question that requires a good geophysicist with a good eye for such a case. This is a delicate problem, which requires a complex investigation.

I am not going to answer this question... because it is a very good question. The answer to this question has incalculable practical implications. For this reason, no one will answer this question openly (in front of the public). In this case, a response is only given if the win-win rule applies.

The Himalayas are the highest mountain range. The Indian Ocean has the most significant gravity anomaly. Is the balance maintained?

Dear Shankar, I guess it is due to a very large height in the Himalayan i.e., the Bouguer plate makes a positive value there.

Dear Shanker: the northern plains of India correspond to the Siwaliks Basin, a very deep subsiding foreland basin formed after the Himalayan collision, so it has a negative anomaly. The Tibetan Plateau and the Himalaya are zones of rapid uplifting and the crust below them is almost twice as thick as normal continental crust, so those high regions hace positive anomalies. I think that the very huge masses of Himalayan Mountain Creates a great Upward attraction Force between the Himalayan mass and the Mass of the Earth So the measured gravity at Himalayan is positive but at north Indian the measured gravity is negative due to the presence of a large sedimentary Basin of low density .

Gravity anomalies are not always associated with relief. The main reason for these anomalies is the density of rocks from the Earth's core to the earth's surface. And the density of rocks in mountainous areas is lower than in depressions (law of isostasy).
In the case of the Himalayas, the positive gravity field anomaly is associated with the topography. The negative anomaly of the gravitational field in the Indian Ocean is not manifested in the relief.
Gravimetric anomaly, when positive, points to an above average density of the rocks making up that part of the crust. As the collision of the Indian plate took place, the density of the rocks increased, due to the collision and thus increased pressure. Which ever rocks there were present, they were transformed into high degree metamorphic rocks - quartzite, granulite, eclogite etc. Check our the geologic column of the area and see the present rock types, then check their density. As prof. Soliman answered, the negative anomalies otherwise are due to the presence of sediments.
