I am preparing gold nanorods using the seed growth method. However, the gold nanorods clump together during synthesis. I have been preparing nanorods using the same chemicals and protocol since last year, and I got good-quality nanorods, but during the last few weeks, the nanorods clumped together. Now I have washed the glassware with aqua rejia and changed a few chemicals that I suspected to be faulty, but still, the issue is the same. Can anyone let me know what may be the reason for this?

Gold nanorods in water, like other nanodispersed systems, are thermodynamically (stick together) and kinetically (settle) unstable. This is the nature of their behavior. For system stability, inorganic electrolytes, surfactants, and polymers are added. Perhaps within a year your chemists have become outdated, and this can affect the complex mechanisms of crystal nucleation and growth.
