I have synthesized GO and registered the UV peak at 230 and 300 nm, but when I did PL spectra of same sample using excitation wavelength 240 nm, I didn't get any emission peak. Could anybody explain it? Am I taking wrong excitation wavelength. I am attaching herewith my UV results.
You may only get very faint PL emission at about 750nm wavelength, cf. APPLIED PHYSICS LETTERS 94, 111909 2009.

You should first learn the difference between emission and absorption spectra, so you don't make the same mistake again.
Bottom line is that in your research, you shouldn't use the same wavelength of maximum (or near maximal) absorption as the excitation one. Change the excitation wavelength out of the maximal absorption region.

Probably the excitation wavelength is the thing as you said. Excite your GO at and above 325 (or) 350nm.
Then, go through the 3 articles which I have attached below. These articles will give some clear idea on luminescent characteristics of GO.
What is your excitation source? intensity of a xenon lamp at 240 nm is really poor or nothing for example. As mentioned above, there are several good paper about GO luminescence. you should measure the PLE spectra of your system. PLE spectra is often not following the absorption spectra for example because of the complex nature of absorbtion semiconductor behavior, n-pi, pi-pi* etc transitions of surface bonds, light scattering and so on....
