I have sent multiple messages to the support team requesting that a citation from a certain research paper be linked to my own publication, but they have not been able to do so, even though both papers have been uploaded to ResearchGate. The citing paper includes full details of my research in the references section and cites it clearly in three separate paragraphs within the main text.I kindly ask that the citation be manually linked to my publication, as it meets all the criteria for proper attribution and is important for the accuracy of my academic record.
All ResearchGate users have the same problem. Citations are added only by an automated algorithm, and this is far from being perfect. In addition, the algorithm can work only in case that the PDF file is machine-readable, not just containing images of the pages. (Check whether it is possible to copy text from the file.) Therefore, many citations are missing. ResearchGate is free to users (you do not pay for it), and their personal capacities are very limited. It would be physically not possible for the team to add millions of citations by hand. - During the first years of ResearchGate, members could add citations manually, and the citing author (provided he was also a RG member) had to confirm. However, I guess this opened the doors for false citations - there is a lot of misconduct in science with regard to citations. What you can try (in order to help the RG algorithm to recognize your work) is to add an alternative name (in your case perhaps your name in Arabic?), see https://help.researchgate.net/hc/en-us/articles/14292798510993-Authorship and the part where it says:
If you published a research item under a different name, adding an alternative name lets you easily confirm authorship of your research:You can add an alternative name in a few easy steps:
Go to your profile and click on Edit at the top of your profile, to the right of your name
Click Edit name
Click Add alternative name if you don’t already have one
Fill out the name fields under Alternative name and click Save

Dear Dr. Rob Celler, I have uploaded four images confirming that my paper has indeed been cited. I have included three separate excerpts, in addition to the full list of references, where my full name appears clearly. I do not understand why the citation tracking algorithms on ResearchGate fail to recognize this reference.
