Why does the g-VPR model of intelligence by Johnson & Bouchard (2005) not attract the attention it deserves?

Johnson & Bouchard (2005 ..) showed that the g-VPR model fits data better than much more widespread models such as the three-strata-model by Carroll or the fluid-crystallized distinction.
