In medical domain for diagnosis purpose machines are playing vital role. With the development of AI, technologist have thought of making machines more intelligent to help the doctors in predicting specific case or disease. But it doesn't mean that AI based machines will replace doctors. The machines are just additional tool to enhance the confidence level of doctors for predicting disease/treatment
While I do not know if brain tumour segmentation programs will have a direct benefit to doctors, they would allow for a quick and reliable method of determining the volume of a tumour. The size of a tumour is an important predictor of survival. In assessing for a benefit of a certain treatment, it is good to account for certain variables that may also influence survival outcome.
