With the development of AI, technologist have thought of making machines more intelligent to help the doctors in predicting specific case or disease. While I do not know if brain tumour segmentation programs will have a direct benefit to doctors, they would allow for a quick and reliable method of determining the volume of a tumour. The size of a tumour is an important predictor of survival. In assessing for a benefit of a certain treatment, it is good to account for certain variables that may also influence survival outcome.
