The main advantage of open access (OA) journals is that you will get significant benefits for your research: visibility, transparency, availability, societal benefits, interdisciplinary research, meeting the requirements of funding bodies, potential for more citations, and collaboration partners.

But in our day and since the beginning of 2024, the tendency of many reputable OA journals has been to reduce the acceptance rate for flimsy (or routine) reasons compared to before 2024, which prompted many of my colleagues to move towards subscription journals and dispense with OA advantages.

Does anyone have a logical reply for this reason?
