There is a popular perception that academics are not normally involved in the social media. They seldom share something of their research findings and insights in posts or tweets to educate the public. Of course, spending more time on Twitter, Facebook and social media can be seen as a waste of precious time for scientists searching for new theories and solutions for mankind's problems. But can they not spare some of their time to share their scientific findings to the public in the social media in a less technical manner?
