Two points:

1. Many of the new scientific findings are reported in internet news. Perhaps there should be a study of the accuracy of the reporting of new scientific findings in internet news stories to determine if the study authors agree with the conclusions and the state of science that relates to their work.

2. Perhaps another study can focus on the degree scientific topics are politicized in social media and the extent to which this politicization of science benefits or harms the science, the scientist, and the scientific researcher.

To avoid being politicized and distorted in reporting, maybe the scientists and academics themselves share their important findings in social media posts directly. How I wish more scientists can spare some of their time online and share directly their discoveries to the public as a form of public service and not just being conscious of generating citations. I think is a lack of communication and leadership skills contribute in the absence of scientists in media

Thanks Lahcen for sharing your insight! Probably true. the social media is a different animal. It requires some skills and leadership in communicating in the cyberspace. Moreover, many senior scientists are not familiar with the dynamics of digital and contemporary hybrid media. But it's not true that one cannot teach old dogs new tricks, so to speak. Sorry for the word, brother you're just too literal, just a saying! Allow me to correct it. "So to speak". This only to imply in Sociology that socialization of people is lifetime. Older people can still learn new things like the social media. Apply "verstehen", know the motive before judging the external act. No bad motive in using the word. Cheers!

I share and promoting my research data in diverent internet media resources within good responses of the public , I liked where much , and be thankful for those opportunity's aim have .

Some academics elect to use social media to promote their own research. Others communicate with a community while some practitioners of open science may choose not to use social media directly. In some case, specialized tools may be utilized for sharing data. It is clear that social media provides new opportunities for more open and two-way science communication.

Most of the academic research is not relatable for the general audience.
