In this case, as we have seen in various software quality models. Factor Y is depend upon the all three inputs. In this case we have the numeric values (positive integer value) for all three input variables which are independent of each other. Here we would like to calculate the value of Y based on positive integer’s values to predict some relationship between them.

For example say if all the values are high, low on the scale of 1 to 10. Then how we can say that Y will be having a numeric value, which can be derived from set given inputs.

what we did was to take a number of measurements of some software systems (between 600k and 6m lines of code), and produce a correlation between the simple code-based measures and the more difficult performance based measures (for us, performance was computed by number of failures and/or defects of various kinds) - we learned that most code-based metrics produced by such tools as Understand do not help very much in predicting errors - we are exploring other kinds of measures of intricacy and reference complexity

is this kind of thing what you are trying to do? what are the sets A, B, C defined to be? what is your criterion for independence (our code-based measures were not independent, but it didn't actually matter very much)

Dear All, The issue is that we would like to analyze the software quality attributes and sub attributes for OO softwares. As per various quality models like ISO9126, each quality attribute is divided into the sub attributes. Each sub attribute is linked to various software metrics like size, cohesion, coupling etc.

From the static code, we can analyze the software metrics for cohesion, coupling and size in numeric form. ( Say LOC=10K, LCOM=10, DIT=03...........). We would like to derive a relationship between the software metrics and quality attributes or would like to analyze the quality attributes based on the values of various metrics taken from static code analysis.
