Citation depends on the activity of others in your field. That is one of the reasons medical journals have higher impact factors than any other discipline. Citations are one of the key metrics to measure the impact of a researcher. Unfortunately, that depends on the activity of others in your field of research.
The authors in your field writing related articles might not have accessed your papers. So you may need to promote your articles in academic and social media platforms. Academic platforms such as Academia.edu, Mendeley, RG, Scopus, ORCID, ResearcherID, etc. Eg: "A study recently published in PLOS ONE found that papers uploaded to Academia receive a 69% boost in citations over 5 years". You may also need to share them in your Google plus profile, facebook, twitter. Put at least two or three most recent ones in your email signature. That could create interest in the topic.
