Even people who have been caught while and captured for committing the worst atrocities should be treated humanely and kindly because we all have negative impulses, no act is completely selfless, no act is completely selfish, we never know the complete background, we are always less than completely certain of anyone's ethics, the government should not have the ability to harm people, Jesus would agree, the Holy Spirit would agree, God the Father would agree, usually the downtrodden, weak, and disabled are the ones who get caught, all humans are innately sinful and condemned to be so, moral indignation is always a sign of at least slight self righteousness because morality is not about the catcher of the violation and or the checker of the violation but about the Holy Spirit, the more ethical and the more powerful should forgive and be the bigger people, all authority, purity, and in-group loyalty are all somewhat arbitrary and all more acceptable if clearly rooted in both harm avoidance and reciprocity, humans deserve more moral obligations from each-other because they were made in God’s image(hence the silver rule, the golden rule, empathy, symmetry, vibes and the Holy Spirit), advancing for the weak, handicapped and incapacitated ends up serving the common good because everyone else is stronger, and or more able. Thus advancing for the weak, handicapped and incapacitated, ends up also serving the stronger and more able people.
