We are planning a study in which we will explore the effects on the brain of a sensory-motor intervention which simulates the process of developmental sensory-motor learning. We plan to explore this sensory-motor learning using an experimental new type of EEG device, which uses different signal processing principles and different graphic representation of the data, than the traditional one. Thus, in order to correctly interpret how our intervention affects the brain, we will need to compare the EEG output during and following this intervention to the EEG output during and following a traditional sensory-motor learning task whose effects on the brain are well documented.

In addition, we would like to show the effects of several sessions of this intervention on improved cognitive function, and are looking for a problem solving test which will serve both to measure brain activation during the problem solving task and to behaviorally measure increased ability for problem solving.

I will appreciate suggestions for such tasks, as well as references to their use.
