I'm not a Chik expert, but have done a lot of research on Dengue which is similar. In addition to arthralgia, which is much more pronounced in CHIK, these viruses affect 3 main systems:

1. Hepatic (higher AST + ALT)

2. Hemodynamics (low BP, plasma leakage, sometimes shock and DIVTC)

3. Renal (if fluid balance is not maintained, plasma leakage and dead cells can clog nephrons leading to kidney failure)

Most affected system is the musculoskeletal system (not only bones and joints but also muscles). Other system most affected are the immune system and circulatory system. Skin is affected in around 50 p. c. of the cases (rash)
