Industry concerns about profit; thus, they highly value staffs with experience that do the job. But is this the case in higher education industry too? Answers to this question may give us a better overview of what faculties value.
I think that both questions are important. In some departments the most important think is knowing the boss, in others- to have experience and results in research. When the deans are interested in results- they are seeking the researchers and professors with publications in highly recommended periodicals, if they whant have peace- they are seeking for the most trustworthy. In Poland we can observe both strategies.
