What makes you an excellent educational data mining expert?
To me, is ability to ask meaningful questions that can be answered by identifying patterns in the data available or help to identify data to be collected. Without a relevant question, that is relevant for the educational context, data mining is pointless.
@Ana da silva: I agree that questions are important. So now imagine that you are given a dataset and you have not looked at the dataset yet. What would be the first question to investigate? Think of a very general educational dataset.
