I have a student who has a research with several qualitative variables and others which I think are ordinal ones. He has a sample of 50 underage who had committed one crime. One of his variables is type of crime which has several categories, but in almost 3 of the categories, he have only one person.

The other variables he had are related to psychopathology severity, with three levels: non clinical relevance, moderate, and severe psychopathology. He wants to perform correlations between all these variables. I recommend him to perform Spearman correlations between psychopathology severity variables, but I'm still thinking he has to perform a chi-square test.

Also he wants to correlate type of crime with psychopathology severity, but, due to he have only one subject in almost 3 of the categories, he cannot perform a chi-square test.

Which is the best data analysis for this variables?
