If patient is asymptomatic why not leave it alone? Usually just pre-peritoneal fat. If requires surgery I would proceed with open and close fascia with non-absorbable like Ethibond.

.In view of small size defect, I belive that there is no indication for surgery if the patient is symptom free. Otherwise my tendency is to treat with open thechnique
What is the advantage of laparoscopic thechnique for a 1,5cm hernia considering also the costs and the need for a general anesthesia for the laparoscopic procedure. It's my opinion that the indications of the minimally invasive technique should not be exacerbated
