Hello , I am trying to compare the thermal efficiency for a metal hydride or mechanical compressor?, can anyone please suggest how we can calculate and compare and which is more and why?

Dear Ketan,
The efficiency of mechanical compressors are far better than metal hydride compressor. The efficiency of mechanical compressors generally fall over 50% while metal hydride hydrogen compressors (MHHC) posses maximum efficiency up to 25% (based on reported literature).
But frankly speaking, MHHC are thermal compressor. The supplied energy is a low grade energy (Heat). However, mechanical compressor intake electricity (high grade energy). So, comparison just based on efficiency is not justifiable.
