Which elicitation technique is the most effective?

Hi,

I am developing an attitude questionnaire. I am going to use mixed method. Before proceeding with quantitative study, first i want to develop items with the help of elicitation technique. Please suggest me the latest trend of elicitation technique appropriate for school going children (Age 12 - 19).
