Current architectures already have accelerators integrated within them (e.g. GPGPUs). However future multicores are expected to have more and more cores, and hence more tiles as accelerators. Which accelerator is highly probable to be deployed within such a multicore in the future?
Maybe crypto cores will become a norm as security concerns are higher and higher each day.
Maybe some eFPGA core will become the norm, to which you can map any accelerator logic you want.
Maybe some specialized & programmable neural network.
All of this, of course, is subject to marketing trends. Imagine Intel's newest sales pitch becomes 'our CPUs are now brain-inspired' or something like of that sort.
I agree that crypto cores will become part of future chips. Also, in the case of FPGAs, there are alredy architectures proposed in which you have CPU cores which share some memory and part of an FPGA, so you can program dynamically operations closer to certain cores running applications that might benefit from it.
As for AI related topics, there is this topic of neuromorphic computing that, perhaps, could be somehow present in the future, but maybe you can already do that with the GPU cores...
