I want the last 10 years of meteorological data of a remote place. There isn't any field observatory, so can you provide me any reliable links which can provide these data based on some model? Any suggestions?
There should be some weather stations, although not exactly at that place nearby. If the data you are looking for is of a very small area of course it seems difficult to recover reliable data.
If you are looking for global coverage of meteorological data I would first start with the Worldclim database which was methodologically based on a paper: Hijmans, R.J., S.E. Cameron, J.L. Parra, P.G. Jones and A. Jarvis, 2005. Very high resolution interpolated climate surfaces for global land areas. International Journal of Climatology 25: 1965-1978. Otherwise you could seek the weather station nearby as Jay suggested.
The Ev-K2-CNR project runs a number of field stations in the Nepalese Himalayas. I think they also have some in Pakistan. I have used this data and it is good quality, far better than most of the other stations in the region.
If you get in contact with them they might be able to provide you with what you need.
You can also have a look at the data set from the Climate Research Unit of University of East Anglia. It is a global monthly .5*.5 grid of meterological observations from 1901-2013. However, you should note that the time series will just refer to the long term monthly averages if there are no stations in the vicinity (few hundred km, check metadata) of the pixel you are interested in.
IMD has many stations spread in Himanchal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. So you need to call them and they will give you data in CD. I have taken data from them.
To get IMD data is difficult. However, High resolution data from WorldClim - Global Climate Data can be used with some degree of reliability and conviction as recommended by Kuldeep.
hello, you can find many information (metadata about the stations) and data for free from http://share.evk2cnr.org, have a look and if you need further informations please contact [email protected]
