AMY- is Actual Meterological year or year to year hourly climatic data. This can be effectively used in building simulation for building performance evaluation.
You can try to extract data from AccuWeather - they will let you do that for a small fees and will also help you with the required scripts for data extraction.
For India, you can also contact Indian meteorological department though the last I checked, they charged a pretty sum of money. For specific locations (say, for Bhopal) may be you can approach through your Institute for cooperation and they may agree to that.
Hi Naveen, I am a bit confused about what you need. Do you want the actual MY data or the typical MY? If it is actual MY, what do you mean by multi year? Do you want for multiple years?
Yes, exactly. I need the AMY (Actual Meteorological Year) hourly climatic data for multiple years, like say between 2010 to 2016 for locations in India. That would give me 7 AMY hourly weather data files.
For AMY you have to use one of the options of Weatherunderground, Accuweather, or Meteonorm. Weatherunderground is free and you have to do a bit of scripting, the other two involve small fees for each file they help you develop. The other option is develop a collaboration with local IMD (Indian Meteorological Dept.) office.
