To all frustrated researchers of lower extremity biomechanics, kinesiology, fall prevention, obesity, sports and activity related injury prevention and exercise physiology, etc:

Sub-grouping potential subjects in order to develop cohorts may reduce internal variations within your existing cohorts that reduce the power and results of your research.

Perhaps a foot typing system beyond pronated/supinated, low-medium-high arch, the foot typing index or (fill in the blank _____________) may be useful as all others researched have failed to produce important high level peer reviewed literature for decades now.

To prove my point, please list in your mind, the five or ten most important updates of the past 20 years in the peer reviewed literature when it comes to the biomedical engineering of the lower extremity and lower extremity biomechanics?

Disclaimer: I am the inventor and Patent Holder of The functional Foot Typing System and therefore have profit motive and bias in posting this question.
