when people stop using it their communication for one reason or another. Different factors can lead to language death; historical, political, cultural, economical, social, psychological, when? when the most of the previous factors meet together
There are two aspects to the "death" of a language. (A) when a language is phased out, as it evolves constantly through years of systematic use and development, and (B) when socio-politico-cultural factors force its basic units to be forgotten. (Systematic destruction of books, alphabets, outlawing of usage etc)
Для сохранения исчезающих языков важна общая атмосфера в стране и регионах, где живут носители этих языков, отношение к многоязычию со стороны государства и граждан, разъяснение ценности каждого языка и важности его передачи будущим поколениям. Важная роль в таком разъяснении принадлежит СМИ.
