It is commonly acknowledged that being a native speaker or nonnative speaker is not a matter that matters so much. But given the chance to choose a language teacher for our own or our children, most people prefer a native teacher. I have carried out a simple survey and more than 80 percent of my students told me they would like to learn with a Chinese. So what's the difference between Native and Non-Native Speaking Chinese Teachers? Are they important? And how can we make advantage of each side to achieve a better efficacy?

The following survey will be used for the study of how Native Chinese Teachers and Non-Native Chinese Teachers are perceived by learners or possible learners and the ultimate goal is to further advance TCSOL’s teaching faculty. I’ll appreciate it if you can help me complete this questionnaire. Thank you for your time and cooperation.
