I tried my best to find the data in 2009, which is 25 billion tonnes [CSI,2009], see attached. Does anyone have more recent data?
Wikipedia - Cement has 2010, 2011, and 2012 production of cement
records by country, and the world totals, but they are 3300 MT, 3585 MT,
and 3735 MT.
I would plot the two on the same graph.
It seems like China is leading the explosion in the consumption of
cement.
The Wikipedia 2010 pie graphs are divided by nations, with Asia being
about 1/3 of the entire world consumption. I have been trying to advocate
the reuse of crushed concrete, as the piles of old concrete along the
freeways in Denver grow larger and taller each year.
