Hello all!
We've written a python software to quantify the area of fungal hyphae/mycelia on a leaf surface. Next, we'd like to quantify the number of conidiophores (the reproductive output) of a colony. Specifically, a stain that could isolate (or just have appear brighter) the conidiophores would be ideal. They are the sink of most lipid and glycogen storage for the fungal colony.
Has anyone found a good stain to isolate the conidia for microscopy, without getting a lot of the hyphae with it?
Thank you!
