Imagine a usual situation, a capillary tube is put in a beaker or cup with water. Due to the capillary effect, water will rise until the surface tension force is equal to the weight of the water column, as in the following figure. The water pressure near the air-water surface is equal to -rho*g*hc, negative capillary pressure. My question is how much the water pressure of other height in the tube is, e.g. Point M, N, O in the figure. The pressure in the tube is always -hc or decrease with the height and finally equals to 0 at the height of water table. Thank you very much
