I have a pole figure from an annealed 49Ni-Fe sample, but i can't recognize what kind of texture it is indicating. The sample was cold rolled then annealed at 1150 C. The pole figure is surveyed on (200) plane. XRD results shows a austenitic gamma (Ni-Fe) phase. you can find the pole figure in attachment.
This pole figure looks a bit strange. If it would be a (100) then you should see three poles for a cubic phase with a distance of 90 degree. If this is a stereographic projection the pole figure is wrong. It would be helpful to see also the map in order to get an impression why do you see such parallelograms. Moreover, it is often better to use convoluted presentations in order to recognize how many orientations are behind some features like the parallelogram. Nevertheless, this cannot be the correct pole figure because of the wrong angular distances.

You are absolutely right about the strangeness. 3d view of the pole figure and its raw data are attached here. i have repeated the test for two times. What could cause this problem? i have researched many articles and some textbooks, but no luck. this pole figure belong to a sample that has great magnetic properties, so it’s a shame if i can't figure out its texture.

I contacted with the laboratory, they couldn't provide ctf file. They have send me an xrdml file, but extracting the data form the file is very hard. The file only can be decoded by a dedicated program (PHILIPS TEXTURE).
