In principle there are two types of samples: flat disks (coating on one side) and cylinder (coating on cylindrical surface). The structure of the test device depends from the sample type.

As you searching some standards to make burner rig test, in my opinion the "Advisory Circular" AC 33-11  issued by the U.S. department of transportation in 2014 is describes an acceptable common practice method for selecting and managing the burner rig test as this circular presenting the minimal requirements to make a correct test. You can follow the circular on the following google link
